What a multi-purpose solution is
"Multi-purpose solution" means a single liquid for every step of daily maintenance: rinsing, cleaning, disinfecting, hydrating and storing the lens in its case. No separate products, no steps to remember: one routine, always the same, morning and evening.
Desìo Multi-Purpose Solution adds a specific action to these five functions: antibacterial and anti-protein agents that remove debris and microorganisms and prevent protein build-up, the invisible film that day after day clouds the lens and compromises its comfort and transparency.
Why coloured lenses deserve a solution designed for them
A cosmetic lens is not just an optical medium: it is also a design in pigment that must stay bright and even, wear after wear. Protein deposits do not merely reduce comfort, they dull the colour.
The Desìo formula is buffered at pH 6.9–7.5 with an osmolality of 305 mOsm/kg ± 15: the same physiological values as the ocular surface. In practice: the lens stays in the environment it was designed for, the colour keeps its rendering and the eye does not feel the chemical "step" on application. It is the same philosophy as our lenses: quality that is not seen, but felt.
How to use it, in three steps
After removal, a few drops of solution in the palm and a gentle cleaning of the lens with your fingertip; a thorough rinse; then the lens rests in the included Desìo case, covered with fresh solution, until the next wear. Fresh solution every time: yesterday's liquid is never reused. And never, under any circumstances, tap water on your lenses.
Formats and storage
Available in a 100 ml bottle, the travel format compliant with hand luggage limits, and in 360 ml for the daily routine, both with a dedicated Desìo lens case. Once opened, the bottle should be used within 90 days; store between 5 and 30 °C. The solution retains its effectiveness for 3 years from the date of manufacture.
The solution is the natural attach to every sale of quarterly and monthly lenses, and the reason the customer comes back to the store between one reorder and the next. Three arguments from the formulation: PHMB at 0.0002% delivers disinfecting action at one of the lowest concentrations in the category, a concrete argument for wearers with declared sensitivity to preservatives; hydroxyethylcellulose (0.04%) and Poloxamer 407 (0.18%) add lubricating viscosity and wettability, perceived as comfort on application; EDTA (0.01%) with its chelating action strengthens the preservative system and counters deposits.
Co-branding counts for more than it seems at the counter: recommending the solution from the same manufacturer as the lenses closes the circle of responsibility, a single point of contact for lens, colour and maintenance, and settles the "which liquid can I use with these?" conversation with an obvious answer.

Can I use any multi-purpose solution with coloured lenses?
Quality multi-purpose solutions are compatible with soft coloured lenses. Desìo Multi-Purpose Solution, however, is formulated by the same manufacturer as the lenses, with physiological pH and osmolality that preserve comfort and colour rendering: it is the choice with no unknowns.
How long does the bottle last once opened?
90 days from opening. Write the date on the bottle: it is the habit that protects your eyes more than any ingredient.
Can I rinse my lenses with water?
No, never: tap water is not sterile and can carry microorganisms that are dangerous for the cornea. Only solution, including for rinsing the lens case.
Do I also need separate cleaning products?
Not for the daily routine: the multi-purpose solution combines cleaning, rinsing, disinfecting, hydrating and storing. Your optician may recommend additional treatments only in specific cases.
