READ BEFORE USING LENSES

Warnings and precautions

Warnings and precautions for wearing contact lenses: when not to wear them, which medicines affect comfort, and what to do in case of discomfort or an emergency.

Warnings and precautions

Always follow these rules

  • Never wear contact lenses beyond the period recommended on the packaging
  • Do not sleep with your lenses in
  • Do not wear lenses in swimming pools, at the sea or in the shower
  • Do not moisten lenses in your mouth
  • Do not use tap water to rinse lenses or the lens case
  • Do not use expired solutions
  • Do not use lenses if the blister is damaged or the seal is broken

Remove your lenses immediately and consult a doctor if:

  • You feel burning, itching or a persistent foreign-body sensation
  • Your eyes are red or watering heavily
  • Your vision is blurred or reduced
  • You have accidentally got chemicals in your eyes

Medicines and contact lenses: diuretics, antihistamines, decongestants, tranquillisers, antidepressants and contraceptives can reduce tear production, causing eye dryness. In this case, consult your eye doctor before wearing lenses.

Lenses with UV protection (such as Desìo monthlies) are not a substitute for sunglasses.

Smokers: the risk of complications while wearing contact lenses is significantly higher in smokers.

Regular check-ups: a professional check-up with an optician-optometrist is recommended at least every 12 months.

WARNINGS FOR THOSE WHO WEAR MAKE-UP

Make-up and coloured lenses: the rules to follow

A practical guide to using mascara, eyeliner, foundation and cosmetics with Desìo coloured contact lenses. Simple rules to protect your lenses and your eyes.

  • Always put your lenses in before applying make-up: inserting lenses after make-up increases the risk of contamination
  • Always remove your lenses before taking off your make-up: make-up removers can damage the lens material
  • Avoid direct contact between cosmetics and the lens surfaces
  • Never line the inner lash line (the inner edge of the eyelids) with eyeliner or kajal: the particles fall onto the lenses
  • Mascara should be applied only to the outer half of the lashes, away from the lid margin
  • Use ophthalmologically tested cosmetics, preferably fragrance-free
